Default My Toyota Build Thread:::SOLD:::

1985 Toyota SR5 Long Bed 4x4 with a carb

I bought this truck in Dec 06, the po had a 350 v8 and hacked everything, wiring, brake lines, rad support.

Plans:
22re
duel cases
lockers
int cage
maybe a exo cage

Here is the first day

First things first, stripped the int. and the complete wiring harness
I bought a complete harness from a EFI 4runner. and installed

And then i bought some parts

next was the springs
Front- I made a pack out of toyota rears and mazda rears it gave me about 5 inches of lift and tons of flex, and a TG flip kit

Rear- I used a set of 56 inch ford rear springs and 2 inch blocks and i made some longer shackles, and a TG flip kit

Next was the bed i cut 13 inches out of the bed to make it the same size as a short bed so i could use a camper shell, i also had to cut 9 inches out of the rear frame and add a new crossmember

here you can see all of the above
My buddy helping me cut the bed.

Next was the High Steer and Ifs Box
Because i used the rear spring up front, it moved the front axle forward about 2.5 inches so i had to move the steering box forward 2.5 inches.
I had to cut off the old mount and clean the frame and weld the new one in
On trucks that are going to be on a lot of rocks its good to use a high steer so the front leafs kinda protect the steering arms

Next I took off the bed so i could get better access to the gas tank area to mount the new EFI tank

Redid the front flip kit, installed the rear gas tank, and tail lights harness

and here is a shot on how the rear double shackle works, when the one side of the axle goes in a hole or up a rock the second shackle drops down farther so the wheel still has some bite
