Default Re: MLB 08 THE SHOW: Strategy: Tips on Batting, Pitching, Baserunning, and Fielding

I just wanted to say that this forum has helped me out a lot.

I also wanted to throw in some things i've learned as well as some questions about the game.

As far as learning the game, I have really had success playing this game as if it were actually a real game. For instance, as suggested in the prior posts, I always take the first pitch. This helped me not so much with getting walks (Im an aggressive hitter), but it helped me to recognize the pitches more than anything. Unless the first pitch is a high fastball, I'm not swinging.

I also learned to hit according to my hot zone. For instance, assuming the hitters zone was numbered from left to right, top to bottom, my hitters hot sections would be 2,3,6,and 7. S I learned to look for anything up, in, both, or the lower outside corner.

One very important thing I had to do (although it felt like cheating) was adjust my sliders (options on rtts). This was epecially important while I was positioned as a bench player because I was not getting enough playing time to get any training points. As a result my attributes started to decrease. Now that my attributes are decent I adjusted them back to normal (...or did I :).

That brings me to my questions,
1. Why has my hitters contact zones stayed the same? I have been hitting practically everyzone as well as increasing my contact attributes.
2. Why is my contact left the reciprocal of my contact right? hint: I'm a switch hitter.

Hope you guys can help, and keep this site goin would ya.
thanks
