Default Re: Crono's build thread

Finally picked out a set of rubbers. Yokohama discontinued the AVS ES100s in the size that I need, so I had to start researching from scratch once again.

Bridgestone Potenza RE050As were first on my list until I saw the actual price... about $180 per tire. I also considered Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs which are somewhat new on the market. Pricing is about $130 per tire.

I then seeked the guidance from H-T, and came to a decision. I managed to find a tire with better traction (slightly better dry, and much better wet), less road noise, and a cheaper retail value... the Kumho Ecsta SPT. $94 each from TireRack.

A set will be ordered on Monday, and then be installed on either Thursday, or Friday. I'm aiming for Friday because I'm off from work which means that I can paint my brake calipers, and rotor hubs while the new tires are getting thrown on.
