Texans reserve WR Harry Williams will have surgery for a fractured vertebrae after being injured in the Texans' preseason loss Friday night. Williams experienced temporary paralysis after colliding with teammate Nick Ferguson while covering a kick. He regained movement in his extremities, but needs fusion surgery to stabilize his spine. Doctors believe Williams will be able to walk again, but this may end the 26-year-old's career.

wow, I hope and pray for a full and speedy recovery for the guy. Football is a brutal sport, regardless off the safety equipment used.

Shows how violent football is as a sport. As much as we are entertained by it, there's always consequences. There was that former Panther that broke his neck in Arena Ball and he died, then you have Kevin Everett. I wish speedy recovery for Williams, and hopefully he'll be alright after the surgery with no complications.
