Turner reiterated Monday that LaDainian Tomlinson will follow his preseason routine of using training camp to get ready while sitting out the four preseason contests. “Having him carry the ball 8 or 10 times in the preseason just to say we did it, it just doesn’t make any sense to me,” Turner said. “He can get himself ready to play. He’s gotten himself ready to play the last three or four years without playing in the preseason. He can get ready out here in the practice field. He keeps himself in such great shape and he’s got great ball security. He gets tackled enough. He’ll be ready to go when the season starts.”

what a spoiled brat....even barry didnt sit out all the pre season games....LT is a spoiled little biach.....man i hate that guy almost as much a i hate dwayne wade

Not shocking to be fair. It'd be awful for him to get injured in a meaningless preseason game.

You say Barry didn't sit out all PS games, but he surely didn't play most of the time anyways, they are not played with the First team the whole time. In fact, I find the whole thing rather stupid.

but still this is like sitting out a practice......they play pre season to get into season form......if he plays half of a quarter it helps him.....and barry would usually be out after the first quarter..but atleast he wasnt a pre modonna......LT is the biggest ego tripping player in the NFL....the guy is sickening......

it's not like every damn coach in the league is pointing a gun to their RB's heads telling them they better gear up and play in preseason games and shit...

well, maybe they do... but either way...

if LT was shitty ass RB and didn't put up the numbers that he does, then we all can bitch and moan...

Did he hurt him last year? The truth is that he's the best RB in the league, and if he wants to sit out, and the team is fine with it, than that's their thing. I seriously think that Pre-season is mainly for NON first team players to prove their worth.

They play preseason games to evaluate the players that aren't the starting lineup, they need to know what they have in backups etc. LT does not need to play especially since he is needed during the year and he does practice and keep his body up throughout the preseason.

Training camp is for getting into season form not the preseason.

I have my personal biased opinions about LT, but the facts are there. He's damn good. I don't like the way he handles it, but having him sit out the pre-season is something of a good thing. He's had a thousand yards every year since being drafted in 2001, and this new 'trend' he's been doing of sitting out the pre-season is interesting. But he's your franchise player. If he gets hurt, your season is shot.

I agree, and you have to also consider the longivitity of running backs nowadays, I mean they usually don't last that long and so the breaks in preseason can only be beneficial.

over the last several years alot of NFL players were getting injured during preseason. Can't say I blame him
