My truck sold finally and I have no idea what I should buy for my next car.
My top contenders: 96-98 VR6 GTi Volvo 850 or V70 turbo wagon (very unsuspecting in tuned form) BMW E36 328is or 325is or a 318Ti BMW E34 525i or 525iT will have the M50 style motor not the early M20 Or I could just buy Corolla and suck it up for another three semesters. |

Corolla.
I don't know how the people are at your school, but at mine, they don't give a shit about their doors making contact with nearby cars. Hell, I've even been backed into at least once, which explains the marks on my bumpers. That is why I'm going to wait until after I graduate to give my car a full paint job. Therefore, you should wait until after you're out of there to get a car that you really want. |

he said on a thread earlier he's wanting to avoid a civic because of insurance.
I'd go for the carolla. Have you looked into a camry? I had one that was in the family for years and the car was indestructable. I'm not too familiar with the reliability of the camry. I'd stay away from the bmw's, volvos and VW's becuase of expensive parts/repairs. toyotas, hondas, mazada, nissan are abundant in parts at autozone/advanced and junk yards. The others are not.

I agree with Josh on the BMW/VW parts. I don't know how much Volvo maintenance/parts run.
I would go for the corolla because it's less tempting imo to modify. I know my school would have been 100x better if my brain wasn't into cars all the time. And I know Jerome is probably saying "god, what an idiot. No self control" as he reads my last statement ![]() Toyota's reliablity = Honda's reliability in my book. Heck probably a little better. My family has owned few Toyotas and they were pretty reilabile through out all the years we've owned them. Especially my dad's 83 Corolla way back in the day I saw a commercial for the Corollas few days ago and I gotta say, I was quite impressed. They have good power (compared to the civics) and they look pretty slick imo I would buy a corolla over a Camry simply because it's a more efficient on gas and not as family oriented as the Camrys. Hope that helps

I have decided what the next car is going to be. I might be buying a bone stock Mk III Jetta on Friday that has all the service records.
I fear the check engine light less than the aggravation of owning a Honda and yes I’ve owned two Honda’s. I can be assured a Jetta will be there in the morning even if it does not start
