The Lexus LF-A has lapped the famous Nurburgring in 7 minutes and 24 seconds, beating the Porsche GT2 by one second. The beastly Lexus is expected to have a 5.0 liter unit that produces 500 horsepower with a top speed of 200mph. A hybrid variant is also in the work that will use a engine similar to the LS600h.


Sources are also saying that the when Lexus puts the LF-A to production it will only build 26 units a month. No production date is set yet, but rumor has it that Lexus is looking to introduce the supercar to the market in 2009.

glad to see the 'F' division of Lexus making some statements...the IS-F already is a descent competitor to the M3/RS4/C-AMG. the LF-A, if produced in given form, has the upper hand at the moment.


edit: pix for your viewing pleasure, Lexus has said the design was under construction due to it achieving 217mph status. but it should look somewhere between the concept and mule.

but the new nsx is gonna be front engine now from what i've heard

my cousin who is a hardcore nsx fanatic told me about this the other day . . .

i'm kinda sad to know that the rear engine is gonna be gone . . .
