Maybe these will tide you over for a few more... umm... hours.
![]() ![]() And I have my eyes on a spare camshaft. It's up to $36 with just under 4 days left on eBay. Hello, regrind. |

Just won a JDM F22B camshaft from eBay with only 40k-50k miles on it for $37 plus shipping. Trust me, it'll work with my car.
Now it's just a matter of where to send it out to for a regrind. So many options. |

Well, the IM work is getting done over the summer. I'm not sure if I want to do the cam instead of the IM first now, though.
A list of companies that do regrinds includes Web Cams, Gude, Bisimoto, Rocket Motorsports (through KTeller), etc. I've got some research to do now. |

Finally picked out a set of rubbers. Yokohama discontinued the AVS ES100s in the size that I need, so I had to start researching from scratch once again.
Bridgestone Potenza RE050As were first on my list until I saw the actual price... about $180 per tire. I also considered Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs which are somewhat new on the market. Pricing is about $130 per tire. I then seeked the guidance from H-T, and came to a decision. I managed to find a tire with better traction (slightly better dry, and much better wet), less road noise, and a cheaper retail value... the Kumho Ecsta SPT. $94 each from TireRack. ![]() A set will be ordered on Monday, and then be installed on either Thursday, or Friday. I'm aiming for Friday because I'm off from work which means that I can paint my brake calipers, and rotor hubs while the new tires are getting thrown on. |
