I'm getting real tired of the whole pitch count ordeal. It's getting worse every year. Like at 100 pitches whose arm is going to fall off? If there so worried about pitch counts, maybe it's time to start cutting back on between start throwing sessions. How about the old timers that threw every 4th day and threw well over 100 pitches? I know some got injuries but come on now. This is what ends up hurting pitchers, its like lifting weights, if every week you keep maxing out at 200pds on the bench, your body is going to be geared towards 200pds, One day you decide to overload and blam your struggling to get it up. Your body gets used to routines so why limit yourself at the "magical 100 pitch limit". some of the pitchers land at 70-80 pitches thrown by the 4th or 5th inning. It's time to stop coddling

Pitch counts are used mostly for 2 reasons. First and most importantly owners dont want their expensive investments to get injured and later on costing them a lot of money. The other reason is because pitch counts are imposed by pitching coaches to try to keep the starting pitchers "fresh" for the end of the year run that they will have to face. I dont like pitch counts either, but they're a big part of the game and when I'm watching baseball games I critically think of situations that occur due to this. Usually evaluating how long the starting pitchers will last based on how their pitching and also when the opposition will have to bring in bullpen help if the starting pitcher is pitching very well.

I'm ok with pitch counts its middle relief pitchers who tick me off. I don't like player who only WANT to pitch an inning a game.

Yea its more of a barometer of how good your middle relief is since there arent many middle relief statistics. Im fine with the DH, it spices things up for us National league fans and I bet American league fans find it just as interesting when they have to use a pitcher as the 9th hitter. Ill admit it does take more strategy with the pitcher hitting, but I like the DH rule.

I hate the DH! If I was manager my pitchers would be hitting an 1-2 hours/week, no reason those cry babies can't put down a decent bunt!
If the pitcher is doing well and feels like he can go above and beyond 100 pitches, I'd keep him in. Brett Myers was beyond pissed at Charlie Manuel a few weeks ago and boy did he let him know it when Charlie pulled him at 100!

Has the topic of instant replay been brought up? I'm sorry, I don't search anything, I just ramble in threads. Was wondering your thoughts on that topic.
