NEW YORK --- Alex Rodriguez tied Jimmie Foxx for 14th place on the all-time home run list with 534 on Monday with a first-pitch solo homer off Rangers pitcher Scott Feldman.

The blast to deep left-center field in the fourth inning landed in Monument Park and scored the Yankees' lone run in a 2-1 loss.

"Alex is going to catch a lot of pretty famous people in the next upcoming years," manager Joe Girardi said. "He's an unbelievable player, he's got unbelievable power."

Next on the all-time list in Mickey Mantle, who finished with 536 homers. Rodriguez, in his 15th career year, is batting .322 with 16 home runs and 44 RBIs this season.

Foxx played for four teams --- the Philadelphia Athletics, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies --- from 1925-45. Foxx is the second-youngest player to reach 500 home runs at 32 years, 336 days.

The youngest? Rodriguez, eight days after his 32nd birthday.

ya a-rod is awsome going to be the best player ever to play and i got arod in my fantasy team :)(along with utley a-ram,han ram and pujols as i gutted my team this year for keepers for next year and the funny thing is im 6-7 lol)

too bad yankee fans bash him and want perfection. "he needs to earn his stripes' give me a freaking break. Im hoping he breaks barry bonds record and his conceeded egotistical attitude forever.

i cant wait until he beats Bonds' all time record...then it would be tarnished anymore....much love to A-Rod....even if he does tan shirtless in yankee stadium and year purple lip gloss on occasion
