Right off the bat, I'm going to complain about the AL's Shortstop and 3rd basemen...
They're not doing that well correct? I know. Hometown Yankees, so they're starting... But I mean come on. Jeter's having one of the worst seasons of his career no? |

who would you say is a better AL shortstop? Michael Young? Jhonny Peralta? Both have very comparable stats to Jeter that stops them from being voted above him. And Young is the reserve.

I hope Longoria does make it.
I think he's one of the key members of why that team is so good right now. Be foolish if he didn't get voted. Besides. I'm sick of A-Rod. Hated him since he left Seattle. lol. |

Michael Young deserved to be in the All Star Game, no question about it.
Then again, with Jeter being selected you see where the people were coming from. Anybody remember that story where players voted on the most over-rated player in MLB? Here's the top two they picked:

Varitek's having a crap season this year, am I right? Ugh. All-Star game's turning into a joke. At least with the NFL Pro Bowl it seems more like it's based on a player's season progress, not popularity.

Michael Young BA-.297, OBP-.345, 370AB, 60R, 110H, 7HR, 47RBI, 28BB, 57SO, 6SB
Derek Jeter BA-.284, OBP-.346, 335AB, 51R, 95H, 4HR, 39RBI, 27BB, 40SO, 5SB If I had to choose by looking at these numbers, it really doesn't matter that Jeter gets the start and Young is the reserve. I don't think that even dignifies response. Quote:
