According to various sources the Yankees and Mariners are close to working out a deal that would send Jarrod Washburn to the Yankees. There has been a last minute snag as the Mariners are now wanting a top prospect in return from the Yankees. Yankees would be fools to do such a thing. Washburn has a somewhat bloated contract and is not really a top of the line starter. Many expect the deal will get done by the end of the weekend.

Yanks need another starting arm but I hope this isn't the guy. I guess they can give up Melky even though is glove is more valuable than his bat. Probably would use Nady, Damon, Abreu in the outfield and Giambi at first since Posada won't be catching anymore.

I've hated Washburn ever since he's come to Seattle. But so far the last month or so in this shit season, he's been consistant, which he hasn't been the majority of his time in the Emerald City. But it sort of pisses me off the Yankees are looking at virtually every team and is like "Yup. Play here". Give the M's a prospect. They gotta rebuild anyway.
