For me this one is tough, but my decision is backed up by a lot of reasons. I picked Babe Ruth, since I never saw him play I have to go by statistics and by championships. Babe Ruth arguably had the best 5 year period of hitting of all time. He revolutionized the game and established the yankees as perennial contenders and started the frenzy that is the new york yankees today. I will also give my respects to Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Lou Gehrig, and Stan Musial which are also great in their own respect.

regardless of how many hrs Aaron or Bonds has, Ruth got to his numbers faster and was a better offensive player. Not to mention Babe Ruth would have been a hall of fame pitcher

Must we also mention that ballparks back then were bigger, the baseball was smaller, the strike zone was also smaller, and not to mention as a result of these things the pitching was better. The weight training programs and nutritional supplements have vastly improved. Oh and just to add something else, chin music was common in those days unlike today where the athletes are wearing armor when they come up to bat. Btw one last thing, the Babe was a pitcher as well and decent to say the least.

Hammerin Hank. He did set the all-time homerun record without using steroids right?
