MLB Logo MLB-Should they raise the mound back up by 5 inches?

This would surely bring down the number of arm and shoulder injuries in the game. However this would give the pitchers an advantage. MLB lowered the mound some years ago to give it an equal playing field for the batter and pitcher.

just curious, how would it degrease arm injuries? may be a stupid question, but I never pitched. I just played 3rd base.

^i think now that the mound is lower, the pitcher now has a higher release point which i would assume puts alot more stress on the shoulder. it would seem like it would be more of a whipping motion at the point of release instead of the low follow through? i dont know though....thats my theory

I'm all for it, but higher scores = higher ticket sales.

I think maybe raising it a little will make baseball more of an interesting game to watch. Things might get a little more heated... :o :p

I think it will go otherwise. Given the added elevation, some of those pitchers will be devastating.

Hell, I remember reading that they lowered the mound height specifically because of Bob Gibson who is one of the most feared pitchers of all time.
