Not only that, but when they tried to trade him to the Giants he retired.

he changed professional sports as we know it (yet had it not been for the dodgers and branch rickey, he would never have been given the opportunity). i think the nba failing to pay tribute was appalling. props to jerry stackhouse paying homage to the great man by inking his name on his kicks today, and i also believe he wears the number 42 for robinson.

I didnt know that until the game sunday night. That is bad ass, that is a true team player. I'm not sure there is a player in the game that would retire rather then being traded, maybe Jeter.

Every player in the game today needs to take a lesson from Mr. Robinson.

you'd understand it if you know about how heated that rivalry truly used to be. i only know about it because my great grandma schooled me on it when i was young (family of dodger fans from back in the brooklyn days-- eh, what are you going to do?)

man i'm so sick of dodger games already. the mom, sisters, grandma, etc. all dodger die hards. glad it didn't spread to me.

I have to say.. Dodge stadium feels like a ball park should (if you can forget about the thugs sitting behind you throwing up gang signs). The Dodger/Giants game was one of the best I have ever been too.. and I have a million pictures but this was my favorite
