I remember he was a great college player and then got into an accident. The one that played in Duke. And Ive never heard of him again. Does anyone know what he is doing or something?

After his rehab the Nets gave him shot and signed him to a non garunteed contract but after about a month they released him. He just isn't explosive anymore. He lost a ton of his speed and agility in the accident. He will never recover that. In 06 he was cut from the Austin Toros of the D league cause of an injury he had. His body just can't compete on the NBA level anymore. After that he said that he was at peace with basketball and is not trying to play in the NBA anymore. Right now he does motivational speaking at events and does some analysist work for CBS during college basketball season.
I hated him for a long while. He choose to breech his contract and get on that damn Motorcycle. Set the franchise back a few years. The Bulls could have voided his contract right then and there but choose to give like 3 mill or so and let him walk. Lucky as hell. He could be broke with nothing but he is set for life because the Bulls helped him out when they didn't have to. |

Wow I didn't know all that happened to him after that. He was so good as a college player. I just wanted to see what he was going to turn out to be before the injury.

Carlos Boozer has been really good in the Nba and so has Shane Battier to an extent.

you are going to get some good players when you have 10 drafted in a 5 year period...but for some reason the guys who are supposed to be GREAT never pan out..its the guys who were supposed to be role players that turn out to be better...Grant Hill had a shot to be great but injuries stopped that |

I agree about Jay maybe being a bust. But Boozer is good as hell man. Grant Hill was injuries or he would be a HOF'er. Can't blame that on him. He gets no exposure because he is in INDY but Mike Dunleavy is one of the best wing men in the NBA. Watch the games and you will see.
They dont produce many GREAT players but its getting old when people think that Duke only produces below average NBA players. Elton Brand is another beast thats in the NBA. Corey Maggette is no scrub. I think all that talk stems from the days when Christian Laehtner was supposed to be jesus but sucked in the NBA. And then Bobby Hurley got hurt so that screwed his career over too. |
