not when he is the reson you are over the luxuary tax whjich cost you dollar for dollar, thus camby would have made 16 on the cap and would hvae cost 16 mill. Yes Camby doesnt make 16 mill but his salary number would be 16 against the cap due to them being over the lux.

I suppose. Im just thinking that they save some cash, but are now a much worse basketball team. They already couldnt play D. They barely made the 8 seed. They may not even make the playoffs this season.

Camby actually makes 10 million...so it's costing Denver 20 million to keep him, plus 21 million next year. Makes little sense to have such a high payroll for a team that can't get past the first round.
Denver is in the worst position you can be in (beside the Knicks during the Isiah era). They're spending a lot of money but they're not contending, but they also not bad enough that they're getting high draft picks The goal ultimately is to win a ring, not just make the playoffs. Even with Camby, Denver is nowhere close to contending. So this is just step one in the rebuilding proccess. |

They often have inaccurate information. They have Devin Harris as an expiring contract but he signed an extention last year for 5 years. They also have Jeff Foster as having a player option when it's guaranteed...no option. There's more but those are the two that come to mind. They may update it quicker than anyone else. Fine. That doesn't make them the most accurate. And another website lists Camby making 10 million http://sportstwo.com/NBA/LeagueSalaries |

it may be true that he's not longer worth the money he's making, BUT a lot of players don't get paid the money they're worth until they get a contract extension or become a free agent... this is true along every sport...
