This promises to be a good year for the Steelers. Tomlin looks like he is setting the guys straight, and I know most are used to the old the old run run run steelers, but one can't help but be excited about this firepower offense Arians is throwing together. If our team can stay healthy(which it isn't really doing right now), we can be explosive.
I am really looking forward to the season. |

Well, good news from the Steelers camp. It looks like our #1 Pick Laurence Timmons is finally back on the field and has a day of 11 on 11's under his belt, so for steeler fans, that's always a good sign.
Fast Willie will be in action saturday, so that should be exciting. There is talk that the starters will play up to one quarter. |

Willie is going to have a huge year if he keeps playing like he is in training camp, and as fro our rookies. How bout Lamar Woodley? I cant wait to see him on the field...he has a good shot at ROY. I think he might have a better shot than Timmons!

Willie always has the potential to go big, and that will help us a lot. We need to get our oline to work better together so they give willie more opportunities.
As for Woodley, I think he is going to be awesome. I love how agressive he is, yet he maintains enough poise to play in coverage vs TE's. Whether or not he ends up better then timmons has yet to be seen, but timmons really hasn't had much time on the field, so don't cut out on him yet. I would love to see our two rookies end up starting the majority of the downs as the outside backers, and have haggans/farrior/ harrison play the middle LBS. |

I'll be going to a few games, not because I like the Steelers, but because Qwest Field is no longer near my house :(
I do see potential in Tomlin being a great coach for the team, lets just see how he does regular season |

I think he will fair well once he has the players in his corner. Obviously with new coaches come new style, so they are mixing things up and there have been talks about cutting some vets(particularly Dan Kreider), and that is always tough on the team, but once all that mumbo jumbo passes, he should do very well.

IF Roethlisberger is healthy the offense should be better than last season. Willie Parker is going to have to carry the bulk of the load and I think maybe teams are starting to figure him out. We'll see how fast, Fast Willie Parker can run.
Defense is a little old, lost a few big names and key players. Not sure they can be anything resembling the "Steel Curtain" this season. |

Ben should ulimately help Willie. A good passing offense makes for a good running offense and visa versa. There really isn't anything to figure out about Willie. If you have a gap, he is gone. He is not a pound up the middle back, but rather a finess back that can break the game open at any second. He should also be our 3rd down back, so he should be getting a lot of touches.
As for the D. Well the last time we resembled the Steel Curtain would have to be a long long time ago when we had Greg Lloyd and Kevin Greene, Jason Gildon and Levon Kirkland. With the addition of our two young LB's(see avatar), I hope we can get back to the good ole days. |

Yeah but I think Davenport will get some PT, especially since they don't want Parker to wear down at the end of the season. I just think they need someone as a change of pace back to really keep teams off balance (i.e. a few years ago with the Bus).
