The Pittsburgh Steelers and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger have agreed to a new eight-year, $102 million contract.
The contract, which includes more than $36 million in guarantees and is easily the largest in team history, places Roethlisberger among the game's highest-paid players. In comparison, Peyton Manning received a $34.5 million signing bonus in his big deal and Michael Vick received $37 million in guarantees from the Falcons in his mega deal. Of course he is worth it...he is the Pittsburgh steelers. Don't believe me...look at the seasons we have had before and after him...
Before him, we were a good team but lacked a good QB, which essentially got us to the playoffs but quickly booted. After he was there, we made it to the AFC Champ game, second season won the superbowl...third season went 8-8(note primarily because of BB's problems), and this year we made another good run. He is the future for the Steelers and Rooney knows that. |
