Exhibition opener has bay angle - The Postgame Pub

Two weeks of banging against each other should be more than enough for the 49ers by the time they get around to their first exhibition game against the Raiders on Aug. 8 at the Coliseum. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
The 49ers open training camp in Santa Clara on July 24, a week earlier than a year ago.
For their exhibition against the Raiders, the 49ers will see quarterback JaMarcus Russell at the beginning of his first full season as Oakland's starter. Next for the 49ers is the Brett Favre-less Green Bay Packers at Candlestick Park for a 6 p.m. game Aug. 16.
That is, unless Favre decides to un-retire and further put on hold Aaron Rodgers' debut as Green Bay's starter.
The 49ers' third game, usually considered the most meaningful preseason game, comes Aug. 21 in Chicago in a 5 p.m. PDT encounter with the Bears, who haven't had a capable quarterback since Jim McMahon.
In that game, the 49ers will face the man who cost them a fifth-round draft pick in last month's draft. The NFL docked San Francisco a draft choice for tampering with Chicago linebacker Lance Briggs in 2007. The 49ers maintain their calls to Briggs' agent actually were regarding another of his clients.
In their afterthought of a final exhibition game Aug. 29, the 49ers will play the San Diego Chargers at 7 p.m. at Candlestick.
Note: The 49ers announced Wednesday that they had waived linebacker Lance Brandenburgh, a free agent from Nebraska who was signed last week.

I don't know if we will POUND them but hopefully we can see some good things from Jamarcus and get a win.
