Oakland Raiders Warren Sapp says Raiders better off without Davis

Kudos to Warren Sapp. Somebody that played for the Raiders finally says that Davis needs to go in order to make that team get better.

Sapp on how bad the Raiders are:

Quote:
"Nobody tells you how bad it is ... any person that calls me on the telephone, [I tell them] do not go anywhere near Oakland."
Sapp also goes on to state that Kiffin never had a fair chance, and talks about how Kiffin could have turned the team around.

Quote:
"He came in there with a change of mentality. The whole system. He changed how the locker room looked because it was going to take that kind of overhaul for Oakland to become the proud franchise we all knew it was."
Sapp on Davis:

Quote:
"[Davis] is the common equation. You take him out, put him at home watching film or whatever he is doing -- you have a functioning football organization. But once he comes over the top, he goes and starts moving it around. Al Davis knows football -- it's just '60s and '70s football. That's what it is. He's thinking that Cliff Branch is outside and [Jim] Plunkett is dropping back and you can throw it 80 yards down the field -- deep ball, deep ball, deep ball."
Sapp even goes on to say that Davis would call in plays when Sapp was with the Raiders.

Quote:
"I remember the first two weeks I was there, we played a preseason game. Somebody came up one time and said, 'We're going deep right here, dog.' I said, how do you know? He said, 'The phone just rang.' All the preparation that goes into a week of work is there, the practicing that you have to put in order to do these things, sometimes [Al Davis] messed with that part of it and that's what kills you."
I agree with Sapp on this, big time. What annoys me, is when I see ESPN Highlights, there are Raider fans that have "Fire Kiffin" signs. I think they're fools. This isn't Kiffin's fault. Davis needs to let go and sit in a retirement home.

Al Davis is like a black plague that is killing the "Silver and Black". Warren Sapp said it right when he said that this isn't the 70's or 80's and Davis needs to step into the present. With the decisions he's made the past 4 years or so, maybe some leech in his family will have him committed and convince his lawyers to give them managing powers of the team. I'd rather see the Raiders ran as a criminal establishment over just being pathetic.

Well it would be great to see Davis hand over the reigns to someone else. But til he kicks the bucket it wont happen. Trust me as a Raider fan it kills me some of the shyt that Davis pulls.

Al Davis is the joke of the league, and the Raiders won't likely be good until he dies, sadly enough. (not saying I wish him harm, don't mistake me.)

Kiffin was a fine young coach. He turned that offense into something that could be watchable, things were legitmately turning around for the Raiders, until another stupid move by Davis. Let the coaching carousel roll on folks. So in the end, Davis is a fool and Sapp was right to call him out, good for Warren.

the lions fans have gone through the same thing for the last 8 years....now that they fired millen thing might be looking up...but the team is still ran by bill ford sr....and as long as he has it, the team will be garbage
