Ellis: Cowboys could trade Roy Williams - The Postgame Pub

Dallas Cowboys safety Roy Williams has doubts about whether he fits into Coach Wade Phillips' scheme and has been isolating himself from his teammates, defensive end Greg Ellis said Thursday. Ellis told Sirius NFL Radio that Williams' concerns about his place in Phillips' version of the 3-4 defense surfaced last summer at training camp in San Antonio. "He said, �Greg, this defense does not fit me. I don't fit in well with this defense at all,' " the Dallas Morning News' Web site quoted Ellis as saying. "So when he told me that, I was like, �Well, man, it's still new. Get used to it, and it'll probably be fine for you.' And, obviously, I think it came to be true. Just like he said, he doesn't fit what's going on here in Dallas right now.' " Ellis expressed optimism that Williams will feel more comfortable this season, while also suggesting the Cowboys could trade the former Oklahoma star. -- San Antonio Express-News

sorry.. But Roy will not be traded. If we trade him before June 1st it will excelorate his cap hit to 6mil and some change. If we do it after June 1st we will get a third of that this year and 2/3 next. Not only that it is a cop-out that Roy says "He doesn't fit in".

As far as going from a 3/4 to a 4/3 the Def. backs don't change a whole lot. Anyone who has played any ball will tell you that. The only change they will see is just assignment because of one more def. end/outside linebacker. Roy is just trying to find excuses for blowing assignments. Playing safety is all about preparation.(and he is always a day late and a dollar short) If a safety could cover a top notch receiver he would be playing fucking corner. Get your head out of your ass Roy and get with the program. /rant

Send him to Oakland. He may be overated but he is loads better then Stuart Schwiegert.
