OXNARD, Calif. - The Terry Glenn saga is over. His tenure with the Cowboys is over as well, at least for now.
The Cowboys have released the veteran wide receiver, team owner Jerry Jones announced during Friday's afternoon practice here at training camp in Oxnard, Calif. Jones said he met with Glenn and his agent, Jim Gould over the last few days, including conversations on Friday in attempt to figure out the best solution. "We've been working for weeks with Terry's representative, looking at how might structure something, as it pertains to the preseason, as well as going into the season," Jones said. "At the end of the day, we're waiving Terry this afternoon. We're going on down the road and seeing where we are." However, Jones added the Cowboys might be interested in re-signing Glenn later in the preseason or closer to the start of the regular season. "You would want to limit what Terry does in preseason," Jones said had they decided to bring Glenn back. "We were probably going to limit him more. We wanted to create an opportunity for the younger receivers. It had more to do with where we are right and managing how he got to the field. And it would've impacted how we evaluated our younger receivers." Jones said he wants to give the younger guys, including Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd, Miles Austin, Isaiah Stanback and a handful other first-year players and rookies the opportunity to compete for playing time. "At the end of the day I thought the best thing to do was just to go ahead and waive him," Jones said. "If we want to do something in the future, we'll do it at a good arms length. He's has as a good a will as any player we've had. I know we have his good will," Jones said of Glenn. We'll see what happens down the road." Glenn joined the Cowboys in 2003 and had two 1,000-yard receiving seasons. He missed 15 games last season due to a right knee injury that included two arthroscopic surgeries. Apparently, Glenn had decided to sign the $500,000 waiver the Cowboys initially offered to protect the club from paying his $1.74 million base salary if he suffered another right knee injury. However, the Cowboys have decided to go in another direction. Jones also said progress is being made on signing first-round picks Felix Jones and Mike Jenkins, who obviously missed Friday's practice. oh without a doubt all the teams are circling the Giants on their schedule, as with any Super Bowl winner.
and BTW to me, Plax earned his soon-to-be-agreed-to new contract in Green Bay, the Super Bowl catch is where he earned the signing bonus |

Falcons are going to win the Super Bowl?
Haha, okay seriously, this is suprising, Glenn seemed to be more of a hassle than anything, and to be honest, the Cowboys don't need him. Maybe he can come to ATL because with no one talking about Vick anymore, it's getting boring..... |
