The Cowboys have agreed to terms with safety Keith Davis, who will likely sign by early next week, meaning the club will need to free up a spot on the 53-man roster.
But on Sunday, the club formed its practice squad. Both wide receivers – Danny Amendola and Mike Jefferson – have cleared waivers and joined the squad. The Cowboys also re-signed, running back Alonzo Coleman, fullback Julius Crosslin, defensive end Marcus Dixon and tight end Rodney Hannah. However, the Cowboys have lost sixth-round pick Erik Walden, who was claimed off waivers by the Chiefs. Walden, an outside linebacker from Middle Tennessee State, was believed to be one of the final players the Cowboys cut to get down to 53 on Saturday. The Cowboys were hoping to get Walden back on the practice squad. So with that empty spot, the Cowboys will now keep Tearrius George, who had a huge game in the preseason finale against Minnesota with a pair of sacks. As for quarterback Richard Bartel, the Cowboys might keep him in their short-term plans on the practice squad. But it sounds as if the club is looking at signing a veteran quarterback, possibly a week into the season. While Chris Simms' name has been linked to the Cowboys and was waived by Tampa Bay Saturday, it looks like they have more interest in recently-cut veteran Brooks Bollinger, whom the Vikings released on Saturday. - Nick Eatman link- http://www.truebluefanclub.com/blogs...luefanclub.com

So glad we're holding with Amendola and Jefferson at the WR spot. Hopefully they'll be able to brush up, and move up in the near future. Alonzo Coleman is also a good keeper for us as well.
