Which is more important?
I'm a firm believer that a great defense will always beat a great offense. That year the Raiders got smashed by the Bucs they had the number one rated offense in the league. Imo you don't need to spend your entire cap on a star QB. Spread the money around and build up a monster defense and get a game manager QB and you can win. |

Only team that I can recall with an outstanding offense and a poor defense was the St. Louis Rams with Kurt Warner, Faulk, Bruce, and Holt. That was the only exception to the rule. But besides that defense wins championships, proved once again by the Super Bowl Winning New York Giants.

Ravens are a perfect example Sweets. That D was ungodly. I can't remember any starting WR from that Ravens team. Hell I can't name one stater on Offense outside of my man Dilfer. Same with the Bucs and Brad Johnson. He had ummmm Keshawn Johnson? Nothing great.

Gotta go with defense. And the Ravens did have some good players on offense. They had Quadry Ismail, Todd Heap (i think), Jamall Lewis, Shannon Shrape.. So they had a talented offense. But defense's do win championships.

Heap was not in that bowl, Shannon Sharpe was. The Giants were an offensive juggernaut that year going 12-4 and beating the high-powered Culpepper-Moss Vikings 41-0 in the championship game. The Ravens were just too much for them after that. Amazing Dilfer-Kerry Collins QB battle

Hey dont make fun of Kerry Collins, he was a decent QB for us. That ravens defense was one of the greatest defenses of all-time, not many teams wouldve beat them that year.

Not to mention that in that Super Bowl year our O-Coordinator was Sean Payton and the D-Coordinator was John Fox. |

Yea Giants have had a reputation of having great coordinators. Belichick, Payton, Fox, and now start adding Steve Spagnola to that list. lol, I remember Danny Kanell, he was the QB when I became a fan of the Giants.

That is one instance man, but if you recall that game the Colts defense was on fire. They beat the hell out of the Bears Offense. |
