Strahan has told foxsports.com that he will remian retired. The money was enough, he just is not committed 100% to returning at a high capacity.

Michael Strahan has told FOXSports.com exclusively that he has decided to remain retired and has turned down the Giants' offer to lure him back to action. "This has been one of the toughest nights of my life," Strahan said from Greece. "But after long deliberation and throwing around a million scenarios in my head for the past day, I think it's just best if I stay retired. I have gone back and forth on this because as a player you'll always want to play, you'll never lose that urge to be out there. But I could only do this if I could commit 100 percent, physically, mentally, emotionally and I can't do that. I've tried to convince myself and my body to give it one more year, but in the end I just don't think I could turn it on like I need to again." Strahan and the team held discussions and he says the money was enough to do the deal. But in the end, it became a matter of whether or not he wanted to put his body through the rigors of another NFL season. "I really love my life now," he said. "It's great having nobody put a finger on me. You really put yourself through an awful lot in this league, more than people realize. I've got a great home at FOX now and I think it's where I belong. I wish I could've had different news for Giants fans but I've known for a while I'm done."

They will make do with Kiwanuka. It's his natural position. But now they need to focus on the OLB.

I remember when he was hanging around camp saying he wasn't pulling a favre. That's probably a big part of this decision, that and like I said before he probably was getting settled and not working out. Spags runs a great system where he loves to sub in fresh guys and has them contribute. I still think it's in our best interest to trade Ward or Bradshaw and a draft pick for a good linebacker.

lol everyone talking like we're dead in our tracks now. I guess no one is watching our preseason games. We're still the same offense, a top rushing attack with plenty of passing weapons and a great o-line. If we're scoring 30 points a game it might not matter if our defense has lost 2 pass rushers. We have 2 DEs that are still better than most team's, and our secondary is much improved. I just watched Eric Allen pick us 8-8 in 3rd place and Marcellus Wiley 7-9 and DEAD LAST in the division. What a joke ESPN's "experts" are. Of course they went with the paper champs again.

Dude, I am in no way calling you guys dead. I was just saying that I understand all the hope and high expectations you are feeling to fill the gaps that have recently been opened. You can't say that with the fall of Osi and Strahan not coming back you don't think that? I call BS. lol
IMO your offense is what will make your season. The defense wont make top 10 that is for sure. lol I hope you see what I am saying?

PJ it's always hard to repeat, all 16 teams on your schedule are gunning for you because they know what you're capable of. I see what you're gettin at AZ, my point is that we're a football team, not just a defensive front, I don't see how it is possible that we fall down to a sub .500 team

I see more than a .500 season. I think it will be a cat fight between Cowboys and Gmen. Not sure what the records will be, but it will sure as fawk be better than the damn Deadskins or the Fuckin Eagles.
