I'll do my best to update this every week. Some names may be added, dropped, or remain on the listings. Feel free to add your own input.
Week 1 Matt Ryan 9-13 passing for 161 yards, and 1 TD. Nothing too outstanding because he faced Detroit, and Turner tore it up on the ground. I guarantee that Matty Ice won't keep this up, but at least he put some of the fans at ease. Kevin Smith 16 carries for 84 yards, and 1 TD; 4 receptions for 32 yards. He fell just short of the single-season rushing record in college that Barry Sanders set. His workload should remain the same week in, and week out, especially with this new found balance on the offensive side of the ball. John Carlson 4 receptions for 52 yards. Nothing special, right? With Seattle's depleted WR corps, he's one of the more solid options for Hasselbeck for at least the next few weeks. DeSean Jackson 6 receptions for 106 yards. Not the biggest guy out there, but he is damn fast. With Brown, and Curtis ailing, he has already made a connection with McNabb. Going to be interesting to see how this pans out. Chris Johnson 15 carries for 93 yards; 3 receptions for 34 yards, and 1 TD. This was all done against the stout Jacksonville defense. Looking to steal more carries from LenDale as the season progresses. Fastest player that came out of this year's draft... speed kills in the NFL. Felix Jones 9 carries for 62 yards, and 1 TD. Provided nice relief to Barber. Looks to play an even bigger role in the offense, and the coaches love him. He's not going to steal the spotlight from Barber, though. Matt Forte 22 carries for 123 yards, and 1 TD; 3 receptions for 18 yards. He was very solid in his debut against the Indy. The 50 yard TD showed off his impressive speed. Guaranteed carries in this offense, so I'm really leaning towards him to take the ROY title. Eddie Royal 9 receptions for 146 yards, and 1 TD; 2 carries for 9 yards. Absolutely tore it up, and made the Oakland defense look silly. Marshall returns this weekend, but there's no way that Shanahan decreases Royal's playing time after this performance. |

Week 2
Matt Forte Still on the list after a mediocre performance against Carolina: 23 carries for 92 yards; 3 receptions for 21 yards. His o-line is blocking well, and giving him holes to exploit right now. Jonathan Stewart Expect more performances like this in the future: 14 carries for 77 yards with 2 TDs. He's averaging right around 5ypc with no signs of slowing down. The return of Smith this weekend should open up the offense more (especially the running game). Chris Johnson 19 carries for 109 yards; 2 receptions for 12 yards. Yes, it was against Cincy, but his workload is a good sign for the future (about a 50/50 split with LenDale). He has another enticing matchup this weekend (at home against Houston). Still a favorite as long as he's getting carries. Kevin Smith I'll leave him up for now, despite his stats on Sunday: 10 carries for 40 yards; 4 carries for 21 yards. Barely any action because Detroit played from behind the entire game. The potential is definitely there. Darren McFadden What a way to ease tension with any doubters: 21 carries for 164 yards with 1 TD; 1 reception for 9 yards. He has the starting job for now (with Fargas ailing), and, despite the toe injury, he says he'll be ready to face off against the fair run defense of Buffalo. John Carlson Wouldn't you know it? Clearly Hasselbeck's go-to guy for the time being: 6 receptions for 78 yards. Engram, and Branch won't be back until at least Week 5, according to Holmgren. Eddie Royal Despite the return of Marshall (and his insane 18 receptions), he still managed to have a good game: 5 receptions for 37 yards with 1 TD, and a 2-point conversion (the combination allowed Denver to win this week). DeSean Jackson Could have added a TD to his stats had he not goofed at the 1 yard line: 6 receptions for 110 yards. Still appears to be McNabb's favorite target, so this trend should continue for the time being. Felix Jones Monster return game: 6 returns for an average of 41 yards each; one of them was a 98 yard return for a score. Nothing to brag about otherwise: 3 carries for 10 yards. |

good stuff. BTW O-lineman will never get rookie of the year. You could make a case that Joe Thomas should've won it last year because of the great protection he gave Derek Anderson, but there was that other guy from Minnesota...

EDDY ROYAL!!!! Kids a good weapon for Cutler when they have double coverage on Marshal, I think they are going to go to him a lot this year.

Week 3
Matt Ryan 12-18 passing for 192 yards, and 1 TD. Solid performance against one of the weaker teams in the league, and the running game really opened things up once again. Matt Forte Still trucking: 27 carries for 89 yards; 7 receptions for 66 yards, and 1 TD. Pretty much the only consistent playmaker on the team's offense. Steve Slaton Welcome: 18 carries for 116 yards, and 1 TD; 4 catches for 8 yards. Good performance in his second start against a stout Tennessee defense. Chris Johnson 16 carries for 74 yards; 2 receptions for 5 yards. Split carries with White (who managed to get the GL carries). John Carlson 2 receptions for 38 yards. His stats took a hit because Jones, and Duckett torched St. Louis on the ground. DeSean Jackson 5 receptions for 40 yards. Still one of McNabb's top targets at the moment. Felix Jones Wow: 6 carries for 76 yards, and 1 TD. I love what he's doing with minimal reps so far. |
