Jets host the Giants in Giants Stadium what a joke that always looks like.
Well people last game's threads are closed but who watched the G-Men on MNF?? I'm back from my 4 day excursion into the Dirty Jerz, and it's safe to say that going to the game is among top moments of the trip. Awesome game, I re-watched the game on DVR today to take a look at some stuff even though MOST of the good stuff happened right in front of me (Hixon return up my sideline). Eli was looking sharp, I'm talking Peyton sharp. The defense was looking monstrous. The safety and then free kick return for a TD was just out of control. BUT THEN the Browns come back with a long return of their own that doesn't quite take it to the house and then a Jamal Lewis fumble in the redzone gets taken to the house. What a sequence of scoring that is. Osi's sack just looked beastly. Had a blast. Didn't snap too many pics and I was kinda sloshed so here's a pic just to show you all where my ass rests for 8+ glorious Sundays every year. ![]() hope we put Favre on his ass a few times before the night is through. damn season tickets to giants stadium are so freaking hard to get. Those tickets are worth a butt load of money..... I think Kenny Phillips is going to be rlly good for us.

I am very fortunate to get this tix passed down to me. Gonna get screwed hardcore on the stadium move, but that's a whole thread rant all in it's own.
Too bad Kenny had a quiet game, but I liked what I saw from Butler trying to keep his job on the fumble return showing that maybe he just had a bad year last year. |

I think Aaron Ross is a pro bowl corner in the making, I saw huge and significant strides in him to be that type of shutdown corner we have sorely lacked these past couple of years.

Without a doubt Ross is going to be a great one. JR has been using his draft wisely as he should. I mean look at his two 1st round draft picks so far: Ross (Texas) and Phillips (THE U). Not to mention 2nd rounder this year Terrell Thomas (USC). He's drafting guys for the Giants weakest position and turning it into one of their deepest. The secondary is where you gotta love to have younger guys from big schools that can be playmakers which is something that we've always lacked. Sacks are wonderful but I want more turnovers.

Yea me too, with turnovers the defense is off the field longer to rest them up for the crucial parts of the game like late in the 4th quarter. As long as Kiwanuka and Phillips step up and do their thing I think we have almost a top 5 defense. Id say about 7 or 8. I know for a fact that Tuck is going to be beastly as well and pick up where Strahan left off.

Lousy game tonight. Starters finish the half tied at 0. Jets win the game 10-7.
Big story is Osi hurt his knee but to what extent who knows. Really hope everything comes out OK otherwise we have some shuffling to do with our defense. |

Good luck to the Giants if Osi is out for an extended period of time. I'm surprised by the score to be honest, I figured that it'd be... higher scoring?
How'd Manning and Carr look at QB? I know Favre was under 100 yds right? |

All of their first half possessions were punts except the last one that ended up with a missed FG. Eli was sort of efficient, but we couldn't convert on 3rd down and got sacked 3 times with the starters in. The biggest one was Eli running backwards and taking a sack on 3rd-and-goal from the 7 which ended up with the missed FG. One of them was directly because Jacobs couldn't block on a blitz. David Carr looked awful as usual, looking lost in the offense and getting sacked twice in a row at one point.
The positives to me were that we can still run the ball really well, and that Justin Tuck sacked Favre on the Jets 2nd or 3rd play. |

Well Carr didn't help his cae in staying for the backup job. I'm assuming that Anthony Wright didn't do much better or play at all?

It sucks, because as bad as it sounds I think Carr makes the team. Andre Woodson got to play tonight instead of Anthony Wright. I liked taking Woodson in the 6th round personally, I thought it was a high value pick for a team that needs a decent backup for our franchise QB. Woodson did some big things last season for Kentucky, the highlight beating LSU in that 3OT game. Wright looked crappy when I saw him Monday against the Brownies, and I'm pretty sure he got hurt too.

X-rays were negative and Tom Coughlin said he was told by doctors that there was no ligament damage. Umenyiora, who left the stadium on crutches before his teammates came off the field, will have an MRI today.
Osi will be out for a few weeks. |
