RIP spankey - The Postgame Pub

spanky was our shop dog. He did not actually belong to us although one of my co-workers and I often thought about bringing him home.

He belonged to a family across the street but everyday he would come over and visit us for hours.

We work on a busy highway and they live on the other side. He has been around for atleast 5-6 years and was good at looking both ways before crossing the road but we knew his time was limited.

He was hit by a car sometime yesterday morning on his way to see us.

Hours after he died our dog, the one that we rescued roaming around our shop with a broken chain went into labor.

She had 8 puppies. We suspected that spanky was the father. 6 of the 8 puppies were the same color as Spanky.

Kind of weird how that worked out.

Anyway...spanky did not have good owners. They let him roam across the road instead of keeping him safe in a fenced in yard or house. To show our disappreciation for their lack of care for their dog we put him infront of their mailbox so they couldn't miss him.

Spanky will be missed by all of us at Epps Lawn and Garden

thanks dude. I wish we would have broght him home but I do not have a fence either. Our dogs are invisible leash trained and spankey was kind of old and used to roaming.

If i lived out in the country I would have definatly taken him home so he could still roam freely

Aww so sad. Seems like EVERYone is dying this week. First my grandpa, then a girl I went to school with passes away, then your little dog friend. We need some good news, thank goodness for the new arrivals...oh I saw your pups on Tashas page josh...so CUTE!
