RICERS!! I hate you all.... "Rant" - The Postgame Pub

Ok guys.. This is something that has been bugging me for a few years now. I don't go one day without seeing a fucked up car with a wing or some sort of shitty ass weld on muffler. And this actually makes me sad. The reason being is, that the import scene could of been a great one. But instead the ricers seen the F&TF and decided to rice out their import. So the rant begins..........................................

When I first started to get into imports it was in the mid to late 90's. Most all of the imports that were fixed up were clean and simple.(nice) There really wasn't an after market for them just yet. (unless you had a lot of money) Now a guy I worked with had a CRX that looked kinda busted and had a fairly loud exhaust.(Greddy) I always poked fun at him talking about his "Salad shooter" and what not. Then one day he says "Hey man, lets go to lunch, I will drive". So then it began... His CRX wasn't super fast or anything (B16 swap) but it shocked the hell out of me. I wasn't expecting the carnage that ensued. Spinning second gear in a 4 banger. lol
So shortly after that I started to go to the race track to watch these "Imports" and see what all the fuss was about. And man, was I impressed. The first one that really caught my eye was Ari Yaulin(sp) he owns Rotary Performance.(Garland T.X.) He had the street class street tire RX7. This damn thing was running 11.0's all night. I nearly shit my pants when I saw this. Then came Kenny Trann in his Civic. This really shocked me. Ten second Civic??? WTF??? Then 9's and eventually 8's...

Anyways on to why ricers ruined a potentially great thing. Now, all these young kids mainly Hispanic and white get these busted ass cars and either paint the hood black, put a wing on, or weld on a muffler. I have even seen some put hood pins in a stock Civic. And ppl wonder why V8 guys talk shit about imports? Its cause these stupid ass jockeys think they are cool with their sub 18 sec car that is just loud and a POS.
This really bothers me, cause I remember seeing a lot of clean well done Honda's. Lowered, nice wheels, true exhaust, most of the time swapped. Now these stupid ass ricers with their stickers and mufflers try to race me in my S2K and I almost want to run them off the road. I hope this makes some sense. I have had a few Negro Modelo's and just had to get this off of my chest.

Does any one else agree with me?
On a side note.. This is one of the reasons I sold my C5 hatch. I hated getting put in the "Ricer" category.

I understand completely which is why I refused to buy another damn Civic and bought a VW Jetta just last week. Granted there are douches in the VW ranks, but they seem to be more obsessed with stacking shit on their roofs aka Pikey style.

That crap pisses me off. I have a lot of high school kids at my church that don't know any better. They always come up to me and ask me stuff about cars and this REALLY irritates me

I'm thinking oh boy, why would I want a loud car with no performance gains?

They're always "Oh I can't wait till I get an exhaust for my car and make it loud" bleh!!!

agree to the max...my civic isn't fast nor is it loud...it has rims its lowered and it has suspension upgrades like hell...my stock sohc civic with no motor work busted a riced out integra with motor work on some curvy back roads and he got all mad it was funny...

anyways back on the ricer note...i was driving home yesterday...i don't dog my car out at all...i start off slow and watch my rpms slowly rise and shift at about 2500-3k rpms because it really helps me save gas...and as i'm sitting at a red light with m windows down i see a crx...hes driving normal until i notice he sees me...he proceeds to push the clutch in a down shift and before he gives it gas again he revs it to the limit and hits that rev limiter a couple of times then takes off...i was like "wtf" if they only knew how stupid they looked lol...

most the time i have a ricer pull up next to me and try to provoke me to race i either just look at them and laugh, give them a thumbs down or ignore them...

I know how all of you feel I drive a mazda and most of the mazdas I have seen are all riced out....so for the moment mine is stock....luckily I dont have to worry about ricers messing with me they usually dont start reving or any of that crap with me.....but I know how you feel there is a guy I work with that has like a 94 carrolla and he has some tribal flames and a double wing on the back of it.....everytime I see him i laugh my ass off
