Default general question about relegion

this thread is by no means to say what relegion(s) are right or wrong nor is it intended to start any relegious debates concerning such topics.

Its is also not a thread saying that you should or should not have some sort of relegion or particular set of belief(s)

onto the threads topic...

who here is relegious? If you are what type of church do you attend, how often do you attend?

I attend a praise and worship church and I attend Sun morinings and Wed night.

I'm not a holy roller, i'm very open minded about drinking, partying and stuff like that. I'm all about moderation.

I'm Catholic.

Early in my life, it was all about going to CCD class, confession, communion, and confirmation.

It all started going downhill when I lost one of my good childhood friends due to an undisclosed accident that left him bedridden, and brain-dead in a hospital. At first, the doctors confirmed he would on his way to recovery after a small operation. That operation sent him into a coma, and future tests proved that he was truly brain-dead. You can figure out the rest.

A very similar event happened to my grandma not too long ago. She went to her doctor for a normal check-up, he found a problem, and said it could be cured by medication at the very least. The medication didn't do the trick, and it sent her back into the hospital for an operation. Successful operation, but her health kept on deteriorating as each day passed. You can guess the end result here, too.

I put so much energy into allowing myself believe that both incidents would truly come out the way I wanted in the end, and I was let down. It got to the point where I started questioning why it was one thing after another (in a sense), and why nothing seemed to be going right.

My other grandma has been in, and out of the hospital recently due to heart problems, so, once again, where does it get better?

I've worn a cross around my neck ever since I received it as a gift for communion. Yes, I still believe in God but yes, I do question the reasoning behind some of the events that take place in my life.

my personal belief is god is the natural order in the universe; the law of conservation of energy if you will. we as individuals are not special, and our actions are not important in the grand scheme of things. we are all irrelevant in this cycle. our place is to maintain order and balance, both positive and negative. IMO there is no hell, and no amount of prayer in the world can save you from the messes you inherit or create for yourself. we are never truly born, nor do we ever die: as the above law states, we merely change form and ascend or descend to other planes of existence. it's less theology as it is mathematics (and if you couldn't tell from this one-minute rant, i am a buddhist).

Baptist. Attend church on Sundays and basically attempt to follow and live my life by the Bible.

after reading that even if i were not relegious I would be looking to put the blame not on a higher power of sorts but on doctors making mistakes and those mistakes took the lives of innocent people. I'm by no means knocking your beliefs or disbeliefs.

I grew up around Southern Baptist enviroment and I used to believe but now over the last few years I have seen a lot and been thru a lot. I have to totally agree with Jerome on his statement, that is the same way I feel about god and religion now.

I guess Ill label myself as Baptist. I don't attend church though, for two reasons.
Alot of the churches I have went to or that family members(Ryans family) went to are VERY hypocritical and also with the issue of my son and his problems we really can't go. We are planning on getting back in when he gets a bit older I have found a few non-denominational churches that we want to test the waters in.

I don't live my life by the Bible as much as I should, but try to do what is right...no one is perfect. I believe that everyone makes mistakes and whatever higher power you worship understands that.

too bad you live in the sticks, you could come to our church, they have a great program for children and we even have some special needs children in our church that the childrens sunday school teachers are glad to take care of.

We are a praise and worship church so we don't have a donomination lable.

You should check it out, Tash and I help out with the youth group, it's not really a true youth group, kind of middle school to college age and in my case a bit past college.
