What do u guys think is the best tv out there to buy? It's a toss up between the Sony Bravia and the Vizio XVT. Both are great, but Sony is like $2-3000 more! What do u guys think?

I love the Sony.
However the "BEST" tv out there will be a 1970's Panasonic. The big 27" TV's with the wooden frame that made the tv almost like a table. Those things would last forever. They were made much better than any of the newer HD, Plasma or LCD tv's. You could even rebuild/repair them when they went out. And if you didn't you could put your new TV on top of them.

Lol, yea I remember those. I totally think there are things out there that were better back in the day, as opposed to the "new and improved, beautiful, updated" item now. Sometimes, old school is better.
However, I don't think my buds are going to want to come over and watch Sunday night football or NBA games on a 27"

I bought a Polaroid 26" flat for my bedroom. Wasn't wanting to put alot of money into it, becasuse I wouldn't be watching it that much. But the tv has been a really good one... we have a 32" in the living room...and I guess the newer tvs measure different b/c the one in the bedroom is so much bigger. I only paid around 700 for the tv and it has been well worth the price.

I actually disagree on there being no difference between 720 and 1080p. There is definitely a difference! Maybe there is no difference in 120hz, but there is in a 1080p tv - especially with blu-ray. I would go for the Vizio 47", or even the 52"!
