Ok, I suck at baseball games. I've read most of this thread and you've given me some good tips. You say you can use the right analog stick to guess location, correct? I'm playing RTTS on rookie and I know that if I guess the pitch type correctly that the hitting zone will briefly flash red around the corners. If I guess pitch location correctly, will the zone also flash briefly red? If this has been covered already, I apologize.

Also, I've led the league (AAA) in batting average two years in a row. Why do I not make the All-Star team? Also, when they show the league leaders in the load screen before a game it does not list me in the league leaders categories even though I'm leading the league. What gives?

Greetings all!
I found this thread via Google and it's very helpful. I've read all 8 pages and wanted to ask some clarifying questions as some of the items are unclear to me based on the mode I'm currently playing. My son and I have just started playing MLB 08 in Road to the Show mode (I don't have the system in front of me but I think that's what it's called). We each have separate profiles based on our login to the PS3 unit. He's been playing on exhibition mode on and off for about 6 months now. 1. As you're playing in modes other than Road to the Show, do the points you accumulate become available for your player in RTTS? I noticed he had something like 2000+ points available to him for training during spring. 2. We both have our guess pitch set to 1/4. We're both on Rookie mode. Which analog stick has influence over your swing - right or left? 3. In past MLB games we've played (EA), for example, if you press and hold the left stick up and you've got enough power you'll be drilling it out of the park. If you hold it down and to the 7 o'clock position you'll be gunning for the gap between 3B and SS. Does it work the same way in this game? Do you have to hold the stick (whichever one it is) all the way through your swing? 4. I've noticed there are different sliders depending on whether you're in the main area of the game or in RTTS. When in RTTS, it indicates that the sliders will impact the CPU - it doesn't say that this will impact the player. Do these sliders help the player at all or are they, as they seem to indicate, only help the CPU actors? 5. When applying points in training, I've actually noticed that sometimes my yellow and blue bars actually go down? Why would that be? Over-training perhaps? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Take care. |
