Do you just use the transform option?
Like I don't want to resize it before I drag it into the first file. I want to resize it after (to see how everything fits together)

Yea pete that is how you do it....if you press Ctrl T on your PC it will bring up the transform tool....if the image is too big you might need to use your move tool and move it to where you can see one of the corners the transform it down......I have had to do this a couple of times (move, transform, move, transform again) until you get it to a size that is workable with the image you are adding it to.....

LMFAO.....so phi the question is what type of watermark are you wanting to make....are you wanting to make a traditional watermark like the text you see in this image........

Or are you wanting to make something similar to what Mario uses in his photos which is in the bottom corner.......

ok I think I know what you mean.....find a font that you like and decide how you want it to look with the blending options.....like inner shadowing or drop shadow...etc....then once you have that you can just put it on you photo and if you dont want it to stand out too much you can change the opacity of the text layer before you flatten the image....and if you want to go further try changing the blend mode......is that the help that you are looking for?..................you can also make a text into a brush if you want to go that way.......
