I've reached out to Jerome to try and get him to get back on here. I texted him and emailed him. But no progress. He hasnt responded so I guess he really is done. He's welcome back here but I think he is gone for good.

I was drunk last night, and wanted to say more. I held back because I didn't want to say the wrong thing.
Here's my take, though. Jerome has been a huge part of this board. No question. However, behind the scenes, it's been more of a love/hate relationship. He has shown flashes of brilliance (MLB prospects thread, etc.), and also non-brilliance (couldn't think of the best word to describe it; in terms of underlying meanings to some of his comments). The line was surpassed a number of times IMO, but people are always entitled to their opinions. Continuous "attacks" just added fuel to the fire. What affected me the most was the way that Jerome ended this whole affair. He put down the board by saying that we were headed in a direction that he wasn't interested in (in other words, a bad direction). I would love for more of an explanation because I don't see any problems at the moment. For a person that usually sticks to his beliefs with uttermost confidence, he folded pretty easily in the end. I was expecting at least a few suggestions. I thank Jerome for what he has brought to this board during his stay. I wouldn't mind having him back, but I will not go out of my way to do so. My overall opinion of him has dropped a few notches (mainly due to his farewell speech). He made a decision that both sides have to live with. In other words, let's forget about the past, and concentrate on the future. |

Jerome quit the board with a 5 year old mentality after I asked him to stop getting personel during some good debatable off topic threads. I just asked him to show more respect. He replied with quitting the forum and saying im heading the forum in a new direction..that direction has always been the same old direction, just be respectful of others. I dont mind flamming, but there is no need to get downright personel.

I don't know what exactly went down here, but from an outsider's perspective, just let it go. Just from reading this thread and his "final post", it seems he doesn't want to be here and participate fairly, so why force it?

i would love to have Jerome back....i know alot of people didnt like what he had to say all the time and people often god mad at his remarks but i hate to say it but thats a great way to get people involved...if he has an outlook on something that you dont like then you are almost obligated to call him out on it...and then he will hit back with his view and it keeps going...people like him keep random threads alive and create more activity on the site...
now i do agree that he does need to stop taking personal shots at people and he needs to put things into words that wont offend...but having him here is a good thing for the website...like him or not i am sure almost everyone in here has had atleast one good heated argument with him that had no hate and no personal shots involved... not everyone can get along with everyone else...thats just how it is, but regardless i think he was good for the site..i know i liked going back and forth with him more than anyone else...he made it fun |

Well I don't know the guy, but if he doesn't want to be here and help us grow, then why do we want him here?
