Default The red hot Mets!!

well the NY Mets are on the surge, going into the All-Star break only a half game behind the Phillies in the NL east.....they have won 9 in a row and 11 out of their last 13. Now i guess the big question to ask is, Was getting rid of Willie Randolph at the time that they did a good move?...so far i say yes

Manuel obviously has a different approach to the game and doesnt cater to his veteran players like Willie did. A key change that I find was the firing of Rick Peterson the pitching coach. Isnt it ironic that Rick leaves and Mike Pelfrey starts to find his stride.... Manuel has also showed signs of fire in his managing by getting tossed from games, which wasn´t rlly Willie......

Jerry looks rlly good right now because the bench is rlly stepping it up at the right time for this team, but like all bench players, when they play a lot theyre defencencies get shown. The team is getting excellent pitching and clean games. The bullpen hasnt given up a run in 19 and a third innings which is good. But its a marathon and not a sprint, so we need to see what we do.

Finally I came to the realization that the mets need to go after Matt Holliday for many reasons. Alou is done for the year due to a torn hamstring, Church continues to go on the DL due to post concussion symptoms. I dont believe the combo of Tatis and Endy will keep hitting like this. The Rockies are obviously trying to shop him. The mets are heading to a new stadium and what more buzz than bringing in a great hitter like Holliday. The lineup needs solid protection behind Beltran as well, because even with Delgados current productivity we need to start looking for a replacement. Finally it would shut fans up that Omar only likes hispanics.

yea if the mets landed holliday then that would solidify them as a contender in the NL, i was kinda weary about them firing Randolph, i didnt think he was that bad of a coach and he had a winning record with the team....i still dont think he is a bad coach, i just think he didnt have the right kind of guys that he could coach....it almost like when Jim Leyland came to Detroit....he took a team that was the worst from the year before and took them to world series with only a couple different players than the year before....i like to see when coaching makes the difference in sports...and that is the beauty of baseball....a team of superstars cant win by them selved like in basketball, it takes a good coaching staff to win

Yea, im being weary right now cuz as sad as it sounds we rlly rlly need Church back for more production on the offensive side. On a positive note David Wright and Carlos Beltran havent rlly caught fire yet this season, so im hoping they can do that the 2nd half with the team morale pretty high right now. We´re batting .313 which is crazy good for us, lol. But what it comes down to, is that we are starting to play with more purpose. When we have the lead, the team isnt satisfied with it, we keep going at the opposition by tacking on runs playing small ball, which i feel is soooo important for this teams esteem and morale.

Its a long season, so we´re going to have to wait and see, fun baseball yay! lol
