Los Angeles Lakers RJ to L.A. for Odom?

This deal is being talked about pretty heavily from what I hear... I think this would be very solid for L.A. RJ imo is just a better scorer and is more agressive then Odom. Would be a nice compliment to Kobe.

hmm very interesting deal. if he was a good defensive player i wud do it. im not if RJ is a good defensive player tho...

we really need D and Artest wud be perfect, cuz he can score and play D

jefferson is a stud defensively, as he should be with that athleticism. i wouldn't do it if i was LA though. i just don't see how that upgrades their front court.

well rj is better at attacking the basket, but odom's length certainly benefits the nets with respect to rebounds and blocks. i just feel odom is a better fit for the lakers.

I agree that Odom needs to stay in LA. Jackson runs the Triangle and Odom is important to that, just like Pippen was back in the day. They lost in teh NBA Finals without their starting center and a power forward who only played half a season with the team, they aren't exactly in bad shape.

i wouldnt do this deal if i was N.J.

Odom is older, makes more money, and averages almost 9 points less a game....i cant see why New Jersey would even consider this unles they were also getting draft picks

They do it to start clearing cap space to make a run at LeBron in the summer of 2010.

If i were LA i would go after Artest. Odom did not show up at all during the finals.

I honestly think the laker are going to dominate the west next year also. With Bynum healthy and gasol in his natural postion, it really does not matter where odom is because there will be three threats minimum on the floor.

I think Ron is the best fit there too. He would bring that toughness aspect that they are lacking.

that is exactly what they need. somebody who is rough and has really good Defense. this energy can help the lakers in bad situations.

The real thing to consider is how would Artest and Kobe get along together. I think it might turn out to be one of the best duos in the NBA, or could turn out to constantly be a 'Who's Team is It' situation. The Nets would be completely blowing it if they did this deal, but maybe that's what they're trying to do. Just set themselves up, where one guy can come in and they'll be a great team.
