Just heard on ESPN radio that Brett Favre is itching to come back and play. Supposedly he contacted GB to see what they think.
I think this circus is becoming a joke. He played around with GreenBay for years, making them wait for decisions on his retirement every offseason. Now he may want to play again, after finally retiring? |

I'm tired of this bullshit. Favre left the game and needs to stay out. He already made his mark on the game and solidified his place in Canton. He just doesn't want to be known for his last pass being thrown to a Giant and not a Packer. Coming back only worsens the Packers situation and if I was Aaron Rodgers I'd be pissed.

Brett, it's time to let go. Let Rodgers get his chance. Let the new era begin.
ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Brett Favre has told coach Mike McCarthy that he has thought about playing this year. Had to know this day was coming. The comeback talk is reportedly only in preliminary stages, but Favre's family is encouraging him to play. Cornerback Al Harris says Favre told him he still "has the itch" to play. This situation could turn thorny. The Packers own Favre's rights, but we'd guess that the front office would simply rather move forward with Aaron Rodgers. The coaching staff may lean more towards Favre. Favre could subsequently push for his release, something Mort mentions. "Brett's a high-quality person and he's not going to push it that far," a team source said. "He'll do the right thing [and stay retired]." http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3471189 Last edited by Crono139; 07-02-2008 at 05:41 PM. |

I rlly think that he is coming back. Idk wat it is, but its like an aura around brett that hes coming back. Especially since he says he doesnt care that his career ended the way it did, but deep inside he knows it eats away at him. Also wanted to add that the packers play on monday night which makes it more interesting to see that game.

if i was Aaron Rodgers and Favre was comming back i would DEMAND a trade, and maybee even hold out....he has been patient enough and been nice for too long....this BS has to end....Favre needs to hang it up and stop toying with the Packers and John Madden's head

Update. Let the Madden curse live on!
SI's Peter King writes that Brett Favre "wants to play football again" and his agent could ask the Packers to be taken off the league's reserve/retired list in the next ten 10 days. It's the logical next step. King writes the Packers clearly don't want him back, so this would force the issue. They'd have to let Favre play or get rid of him, both of which sound frightening. They could also try one last time to convince him not to play. King believes that ultimately the Packers would take him back, risking the chance they alienate Aaron Rodgers. Another option would be if Favre agrees not to join one of their NFC North rivals. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...ref=si_writers |
