Once Brett Favre has arrived at Green Bay training camp, sources tell FOXSports.com the team will ramp up efforts to trade him. In addition, once he is a member of the team and officially reports, he will no longer have the right to veto any trade. The Packers are scrimmaging Sunday night, but Favre will not be allowed to attend the scrimmage since he technically will not be a member of the team until the reinstatement officially takes effect on Monday.
Source: FOXSports.com Personally now I can't wait to see what happens next.

He'll be allowed to play for the starting position, Packers organization has already flip flopped and let Aaron Rodgers down...so much for backing their so called starter for like a few weeks..
Talk about throwing him under the bus...

it makes sence that he doesnt have a no trade clause in his contract....no one would have ever thought the packers would want to trade him

As unfair to Rodgers as it is to bring Brett back to camp, I think they should keep Favre around. The Packers know that he had arguably his best season last year and knows that offense and those players better than anyone. Trading him away to a division rival, apparently Favre's interested landing spots, should be out of the question. I say let him compete for the starting job, and if he shows that he's the better option (which is pretty obvious he will be), then let him play. End all this drama already.
Now with that said, Rodgers was named the starter, so they can either A) start him, and then have Packer fans call for his head after his first bad game, or B) start Favre, and have Rodgers, a first round draft pick, be relegated to the bench for another season. I say let Rodgers go play for another team, he's been bench warming the past 3 seasons, let him find a place that will give him the opportunity to start if your organization doesn't see him as the QB of the future like they originally planned. This is going to be a stressful season for Aaron, starting or not. Last edited by nyG; 08-03-2008 at 09:35 PM. |

i agree if they start Rodgers over Favre and Rodgers messes up, it will ruin any future he has with the fans....people are looking at him like the enemy when its the coaches who are holding Favre back

Said it on this board over three weeks ago. I don't see why the Packers wouldn't want Favre back. If the man asks to suit up as your starter on Sundays you let him no questions.

The problem is with management, telling Rodgers that they would back him and then not do it is just bogus. Football is a business and you want the best person under center and unfortunately for Aaron that's Brett.

I feel really bad for Aaron Rodgers. If I were him, I'd want out, especially with Brett Favre coming back to screw Rogers from ever starting.
I have two words to say to Favre: Fuck You. It's all about him, he doesn't care about anybody or anything else. And for the Packers, I say F-You too. You get this guy's hopes up to be the starter, then you have him competing for starting job. Brett Favre's a dick. I hope he gets traded, or that Rodgers wants outs. I really want to see him start somewhere. |

well Rodgers' contract is up at the end of the year...i bet he goes on the free agent market....the Packers can worry about start Brohm.....what favre doesnt understand is that he is gonna screw this team for the future...right now they have a guy who can potentially go in and be a productive starter...who knows what Brohm would be like...

I bet if the media quit covering Brett Favre, he'd call another press conference and cry again. Ugh. What a loser.

I disagree. I will say that as of right now, Favre is without a question the better option for the 2008 season, but at some point you do have to look into the future. Let's say Favre comes back, doesn't win the superbowl and retires after the season. They basically throw away a possibly good quarterback who's very ready and prepared to play after spectating arguably one of the best qbs for what will be his 4th year in the league. And with Rodger's contract ending at the end of the season, I strongly doubt he resigns after being fucked by the Packers year after year keeping in mind that who knows how many more offseasons we'll see Favre headline with his bullshit before he finally retires. Let's say Favre retires and Rodgers leaves for another team, then what do the Packers do? I mean they still have a great team but now no quarterback to count on to get the job done. I think it's time to part ways with Favre and even though it's a very difficult move to make, you do it for the future.
