Bears quarterback Rex Grossman talked to the media after Monday’s practice, ending a week of silence after he lost the preseason quarterback battle with Kyle Orton. “I was a little surprised, but I’ve had some time to digest it, and I’ll be ready to go,” Grossman said. “I will be ready at a moment’s notice. You never know what’s going to happen. My plan is to stay ready. My role from everyone else’s standpoint has changed, and that’s taken a little bit of time to get over. I’ll never fully get over it, and I don’t think anyone would expect me to.” For his part, head coach Lovie Smith said he still supports Grossman, and thinks he’ll be ready to go if called upon. “Everyone wants to start,” Smith said, “but there’s a role for everyone on the football team. Sometimes you don’t like it, but as a team player you have to go with it, and that’s what Rex is doing.”

He was surprised? I'm sorry but is he really that stupid? He's such a horrible QB, and he doesn't understand why he lost the starting job?

Hmmm. It's the pre-season, and Rex is being booed on incomplete passes and near-interceptions. "And I don't understand why I'm not the starter"? God. What was his Football IQ? 1?

Shit if I was the starting quarterback of a Super Bowl team I would be surprised too. I mean of course they had a monster defense that one season, but if he played good enough to get there, of course he would be thinking that he could do it again. That's the competitor inside him trying to be the best he can, and I don't blame him.
Too bad he sucks tho.

Because of his bad streaks, I didn't even want the Bears to win against Indy. Besides that I wanted the Colts to win a ring for Peyton, I didn't think Grossman deserved it.
