Since we were on the discussion of Michael Strahan retiring. Where will he be in terms of great DE's? Is he top 5? Maybe Top 3? I found out over the years that Strahan wasn't the strongest or the quickest at his position, but he never had any glaring weaknesses. And when he came to play, he let it all out on the field, which imo was his greatest strength. Now I didn't really see Bruce Smith or Reggie White, but for my time the best DE was Strahan. I know Smith and White were better.

I like how Howie Long wants his son Chris to be a better football player than himself. You can tell he's proud of his son and says that Chris was a better collegiate player than he ever was and more mature when Howie was younger, lol.
Idk about Julius Peppers..... god he's a freak of nature though. |

Well my point is that hes the all time sack leader due to a long career. Strahan just retired at 36 and easily had another 2 productive years left. Numbers are alot of the times skewed due to the longevity of a players career. Like the last 3-4 years being really watered down. I always base players based on their prime years and what they left with. Look at my examples Barry Sanders and Sandy Koufax, both retired at their respective sports at what 30-31 years of age? |
