looks like smith has a history of this, this a perfect time for the team to not baby their star player and show him the consequences by severely punishing him. lol, but that wont happen cuz theyre paying him millions.

I really thought Steve Smith had a better head on his shoulders than to do this. The Panthers are a shadow of what they were when they went to the Super Bowl, if they don't have any success this year, I'd expect Smith to get traded while he is still worth something. They're a patchwork team at best, and when one thread becomes loose, this entire team will go under.
