Eventhough they apologized for the comments, Portis is kinda right about the big name involved in dog fighting. I'm sure there are plenty of other people that have dog fighting that don't get busted like this. Its just another thing for the News to exploit and bring a someones name down.

That's the point though. Someone in the spotlight like Vick should realize their life is under a microscope.

Lets just face it, even most of the smiling faces in the NFL are scum bags. You can take the man out of the hood but you cant take the hood out of the man.

Sadly, you're pretty spot-on, which is why Goodell is stepping in and suspending people for off-the-field incidents. Frankly, it's about damn time, and I'm proud of him for stepping up like that.

It makes you wonder, then, how a future hall-of-fame commish like Tagliabue let things like this slide.
