I'm not 100% convinced he wanted money. I think he wanted to be a #1 receiver again, and he just doesn't have the talent for it anymore. He wasn't terrible on draft day, so I think he'll be a good addition to ESPN.

“They offered in the $7 million-$8 million range over two (years) with a substantial portion of it guaranteed. It was tempting. But at the end of the day ESPN deal was so strong,’’ Stanley said. “The numbers (from ESPN) were unbelievable, and it just made the most sense after all he has done in his 11-year NFL career.’’

Im a little disappointed by this. I always enjoyed watching Keyshawn play, and though he did a fantastic job as a possession reciever...just not a big-play man like he seemed to want to be. Ah well.

Last year it seemed when it came time for him to make clutch plays he never quite could. He dropped too many passes, ran the wrong routes, and mistimed his jumps far too often for me to miss him.

He's not the best spoken person I could think of but he'll fit the bill on the network. Should be enjoyable to watch.

I heard KJ wanted $12 million, or so.
Jim Wyatt, of the Nashville Tennessean, reports the agent for retired WR Keyshawn Johnson said the Tennessee Titans offered Johnson a two-year deal worth between $7 million and $8 million "with a substantial portion guaranteed.'' Johnson told head coach Jeff Fisher he was "very close" to signing with the Titans but decided to retire. Last edited by Crono139; 05-24-2007 at 02:58 PM. |
