NFL - Should Tiki Barber have continued playing?
I think he should have played 2 more years. I think if the Giants had a coach other than Coughlin, we would have stayed.
While on the other hand I do respect that fact he retired on top of his game. |

He had quite a few good years left in him, but I fully understand not wanting to play another few seasons under Coughlin. I wish the Giants would get rid of him before they have any more attrition.

I think he should have continued. I really respect what he did, keeping himself from becoming a decrepit old man, and taking the opportunity to go on to other things...but I really fear for his ability to make the Hall now.

Well IMO they are far better with him. It's up to Eli to lead this team now. |

LOL@ Eli... He is half of Peyton. Sorry Chubz but Eli is over rated and not gonna take the Giants to the next level.

I think if they sat Eli for a year behind a decent veteran and helped him work on his issues he'd develop into a much better QB but as it stands he's a sinking ship: the more pressure you put on him the faster he's going to go down.

If it was in his heart to stop playing, then he should have stopped playing, regardless of what was better for his team. At the end of the day, he's a human, and playing in the NFL severely interrupts that facet.
As someone who enjoyed seeing him play (unless it was against the Skins) and get better with age, I really did want to see what he could do given a full career. |

Well it's a tough question. Of course a fan would want Tiki to stay, but if he doesn't, then it's probably a better team without him. You also have to consider the workhorse you have in Brandon Jacobs....he is my sleeper running back for next year.
