i dont know how this wasnt posted but i think the winning of a championship deserves its own thread....




The Detroit Red Wings win their 4th Stanley Cup in 11 years Wedsnday in Pitsburg. This series was a GREAT series for the NHL, with the most popular player, Sydney Crosby, and the most popular team, Detroit Red Wings, were showcased front and center with national cable broadcasts. The series drawed highest ratings since the last time the Red Wings were in the finals. (2002) This series brought alot of new fans to the NHL and, in my mind, saved the NHL. If you did not get to see this series then i have to say you missed a great one...even for non-NHL fans, it was good....the tripple over time thriller game 5 was insane and the game 6 was another nail biter with the Penguins almost scoring with 2 seconds left.


All in all i have to say if every NHL series was like this one then I would be a huge fan..

yea it was a good series.....Detroit played amazing it would have been better if pittsburgh would have played like they were all season though

i dont think it helps Pittsburgh that they played a team that is better than any other team they have played all year....it makes the penguins look bad...but in reality they almost forced a game 7 against the most dominant team in the NHL
