Islanders fire coach Ted Nolan - The Postgame Pub

Happened a couple of days ago, but nobody seems to care about hockey in the damn forum so I'm trying to help us out.

Nolan cited "philosophical differences" with the direction of the team. Good move by the Isles, supposedly he clashed with GM Garth Snow (that's right, the ex-Isles goalie Garth Snow) a lot. It will be interesting to see who wants to take a head coaching job after the draft has already taken place, the big name free agents are pretty much off the market, and this team plays in one of the most unattractive hockey arenas (from a die-hard stand point, not a fan standpoint). Gotta think that John Tortorella (former Lightning head coach before Tampa replaced him with the ESPN Mullet) is the front runner.
