The Philadelphia Flyers announced that they have signed 6’1”, 205-pound right wing Joffrey Lupul to a four-year contract extension, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed. “With the way that the salary cap is structured, we felt it was an opportunity to lock up another one of our young players and move forward,” said Holmgren in making the announcement. “He is one of our young, core players that we are really high on and we look for good things to come from Joffrey. “Our team had very good chemistry right from the start of training camp last year. If you have the ability to keep a core group together for a long period of time, it can only help in the building process of trying to create a winning team.”
