When Will Canada Get Another Team? - The Postgame Pub

With the Panthers, Coyotees and Predators reporting huge losses the last couple years. The 6 canadian teams generating 40% of the leagues revenues. How long until Winnipeg, Hamilton or Quebec City gets a team? I know most people think Bettman will have to be gone before it happens but who knows. If i was an owner of one of these teams i would be looking to sell or move the team.

i agree...but the one thing is...winnipeg had a team and it moved to colorado because of low sales...i think it comes down to, if the team isnt original 6 or winning cups they wont be doing to well...

but my favorite ex-team is still Hartford

Canada almost got the Penguins.

Hockey will come around again, it may take another American gold metal in the winter olympics to get the general population interested but it will happen.

The Winnipeg Jets moved to Pheonix but thats besides the point. The reason Winnipeg couldn't keep a team was due to low ticket revenues during the last few years the Jets were here we had consistantly 5 cheapest tickets in the league, a horribly out of date arena and a poor exchange rate between the canadian and the us dollar.

I was really to young to remember the Jets season before the last couple. I know in the last season here once it was decided that the team was leaving tickets sales dropped but during the previous years i remember the arena being pretty close to a sell out 13,000ish out of a 15,000 seat arena is alot better then most places out there.
