Penguins Whitney will miss first of season - The Postgame Pub

For those of you that don't know who Ryan Whitney is, you suck!

He's had foot problems for the past 2 years starting toward the end of the 06-07 season and got progressively worse as time went on.

Before the end of the play off run he has said he had problems walking aswell as problems on the ice. He could not make quick turns, stops or accelerate quickly without pain. It also affected his agility.

After talking to 4 foot experts who agreed he needed surgery he went in for surgery last week.

He will heal in 3-5 months which means he will definatly be missing the first game of the season in Sweden as well as the home opener.

No news of his foot problems were leaked until the end of the playoff run just to show you how much hockey players will endure compared to the pansys in baseball!!!!!

Well that sucks but hopefully he will be back before too long after the start of the season

Hopefully we will have a healthy team for this years playoff run!

But the question is, will they make it back to the cup finals? Now that they lost Malone, Laraque, Roberts, and Hossa to name a few. They may be deep in the minors but I don't know that.

In the western conference I would say no the Pens wouldn't make the conference finals, but they're not, so they will.

The pens do have alot of talented young players in the minors but they still need guys like Hossa and Roberts.

They need guys with experience. And guys like Roberts with both experience and a great physical presence on the ice are definatly needed for a team that is pretty much know for finess hockey.

I say they make the playoffs but without a few experienced guys locked into a long term contract they will have a hard time being a consistant team. Season after season they will be a good team but to be good enough to make the finals they will be hit and miss.
